Take one.
The reading.
What am I missing: one card you can see, one tucked behind it.
The second card is laid face down behind the first, and it is the whole spread. What you can already see is rarely the problem. Two cards, and the second is the one you came for.

The positions, and how to read a card in each
- 1What you can see
- The situation as you already know it. This card should not surprise you; if it does, start there, because the thing you thought you could see was the thing you were missing.
- 2What you cannot
- The card tucked behind the first one. Read it as what the first card is hiding, not as a separate matter: it is the same situation from the side you do not stand on. It is often smaller than you feared and closer than you thought.
Already laid this one on your own table? Read the cards you pulled, in these positions, with the same engine.
The cards are Pamela Colman Smith's, drawn in 1909. The draw is sealed before you touch the deck, so it can be recomputed by anyone, and nobody including the engine sees a card before you do. Readings here never give dates except the sky's, and never give medical, legal or financial specifics.
